Double exposure of Timothy Lake in Mt. Hood National Forest

Outdoor School

April 13, 2023

I would never call myself a landscape photographer (you have to wake up way too early for that), but I do love bringing a camera whenever I go on a hike in the woods. In particular, I enjoy bringing film cameras while hiking because they aren't worth much money, and they can yield some pretty fun results when using them in a more experimental way.

I enjoy experimenting with double exposures, long exposures while hand-holding, and using cameras with known light-leaks. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it looks like garbage. But it's worth it to reserve an aspect of my photography that isn't concerned with results.

Below are a handful of my favorites I took while hiking and backpacking in summer and fall of 2022. I spent time in the Mt. Hood National Forest, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and also plenty of time in central Oregon. Enjoy :)
